			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>Banka</strong> is a <a title="District" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/District">district</a> in the state of <a title="Bihar" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bihar">Bihar</a> in <a title="India" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/India">India</a>. The district, part of <a title="Bhagalpur Division" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bhagalpur_Division">Bhagalpur Division</a>, has its headquarters at <a title="Banka, Bihar" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Banka,_Bihar">Banka</a> town. The district occupies an <a title="Area" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Area">area</a> of 3018 km² and has a <a title="Population" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Population">population</a> of 1,608,773 (as of 2001). Hindus 1,409,352, Muslims 190,051 (11.81%). Digvijay Singh is the <a title="Parliament of India" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parliament_of_India">MP</a> of Banka. He is also DY President of national Olympic association.</p>
<p>There is a very famous temple of MATA DURGA in KARHARIA, Banka. Every year during <a title="Durga pooja (page does not exist)" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Durga_pooja&amp;action=edit&amp;redlink=1">Durga pooja</a>, lots of devotees from many parts of country visit this temple. There is a small mountain which is made of one large stone height about 500 meter known as <strong>MANDAR PARBAT!!!<em>. At the top two temples are made one is</em></strong> <em>NARSIMHA ( one of the incarnation of god VISHNU ) TEMPLE</em> !!! and other is <strong>DIGAMBER JAIN TIRTHANKAR</strong>. The management of the NARSIMHA TEMPLE is under a trust . There is a very old AVANTIKA NATH temple at the bottom of Mandar Parvat . The Avantika Nath tample trust founded by late Babu Biro Singh of the village Sabalpur , looks after the Avantika Nath temple . Presently Shri Kailash Pathak is the Sevayat of the Avantika Nath temple . One MAA LAKXMI temple is made in front of <strong>PAAPHARNI POND</strong> (its water is so pure that one bath makes you free from all disease). There was an old university known as <strong>MANDAR VIDYAPITH</strong> established by Late Shri Harivallav Narayan Singh a famous social reformer , a freedom fighter and a land lord of village Azadnagar, Sabalpur vide a registered settlement deed no. 2002/1945 . The first president of the Indian Republic Desratna Dr. Rajendra Prasad was the founder President and &#8220;Bihar Bibhuti&#8221; late Dr. Anugraha Narayan Singh was the first working President of the reputed Mandar Vidyapith . While a south Indian Late A . S Madhavan was the first Acharya of the Vidyapith . As the Vidyapith is no more one English medium secondary school known as ADWAT MISSION is being run inside the campus of Mandar Vidyapeeth . A village called &#8221; SABALPUR &#8221; is situated in the eastern foot hill of the Mandar Parvat . Sabalpur is famous for it!!!s reach cultural values . Sabalpur is also known as the capital of Mandar . At present Smt. Manuja Devi is the Mukhiya of the Sabalpu gram panchayat . She is the youngest daughter in law of Late Shri Harivallav Narayan Singh . While the 3rd son of Harivallav Babu Shri Diwaker Prasad Singh @ Duldul Babu is the Mukhiya of near by Mahua Gram Panchayat . One village name <strong>LAKHPURA</strong> known for its famous temple OF KALI literally called <strong>LAKHPURA KALI</strong> is situated 2km from MANDAR PARBAT.</p>
