Race for the chairmanship of kodava and Gowda Arebasha Academy heats up in Kodagu.
The term of Kodava academy chairmanship comes to an end by February 24. As the present chairman Rani Machaiah has to step down, over a dozen aspirants including two ladies are doing rounds to capture the post by using influence.
Besides, Government has decided to start Gowda Arebasha Acdemy.Both the speaker K.G.Bopaiah and the chief Minister Sadananda Gowda hailing from the same community, this academy will have its chairman from Kodagu. Hectic competition is on for the post while people from Sullia and Puttur are also eying on the chair.
Appointments will have a say from the speaker and people are waiting with bated breath to know who is going to chair the post.
MILK PRODUCERS SOCIETY TO COME UP
Speaker K.G.Bopaiah urged the milk growers in South Kodagu to form a society to collect milk and sell it to KMF.
Addressing the KDP meeting at Ponnampet, K.G.Boapaih disclosed that he has already spoken to the president of Hassan Milk producers co operative society H.D.revanna to have a tie up with kodagu growers.
Assistant managed of hassan Milk Producers co operative society, Prakash, who was also present discussed the matter and said that milk should be produced in large quantity to meet the expenditures involved.
Taluk Panchayath president Dinesh, vice president dharani katti was also present in the meeting.
OFFICALS FACE MUSIC
Three officials of Kushalnagar Town Panchayath face charges of selling government land to a private person and the district administration has lodged a complaint at Kushalnagar police station.
Former chief officer Padmanabh and two other staff Jayaram and Mahesh are accused of twisting the records and selling over an acre of land to a private person.
