GIRL MOLESTED

police arrested a person in connection with the molestation of a minor girl.
The incident occured at Taltareshettalli near Somwarpet on 11th january and came to light only yesterday. According to police, a twelve year old girl was returning from school on 11th. Ullas, a thity year opls resident of the village drageed the girl into forst and molested her. The girl revealed the plight to parents only yesterday.
The second tragedy hit the family as the girls father immediately consumed poison, unable to withstand the shame. he is shifted to a hospital at Mysore for higher treatment and the accused is arrested and sent to judicial custody. The girl is also treated at somwarpet hospital.
A FAKE GUY IN GOVERNMENT JOB
Kushalnagar poice have registered a cheating case against one Ramegowda alias Kullegowda serving in education department at Kudige as a fourth division clerk. His son has lodged the complaint alleging that his father has created fake records and claimed the job of one Kullegowda.
Ramegowda began his duty as a temporary worker at harnagi reservoir project about thirty years ago. The government regularised the job of hundreds of people during that period and Ramegowdas name was not in the list. He immediately took the records of one Kullegowda, an ailing worker, whose job was regularised and claimed that his name is Kullegowda. Kullegowda came to know of it after few years and before he could move the court, he passed away. Kullegowda’s son tried to take up the matter and poverty forced him to shift to Ramnathpur and the case was not moved.
Ramegowda immediately pronounced through notary that both the names Ramegowda and Kullegowda belongs to one person and he began to enjoy the salary and benefits. he now owns house and property. meanwhile, he had raised loan in the name of ramegowda and did not refund.
His son D.R.Prabhakar who lodged the complaint with the police has alleged that his father is a fake and has cheated a deceased person. The rift arised between father and son as ramegowda tried to shift a rupees ten lakh loan on the head of Prabhakar.
Police are investigating.
CONTRACTORS WARN CEASING OF WORK

The Kodagu contractors association warns complete ceasing of work if the construction materials like stone bits and sands are not timely supplied and the prices are not reduced. Today, the district contractors’ association office bearers and members staged a protest in front of the deputy commissioner’s office here. They submitted a memorandum to the additional D.C. K.M.Chandregowda.
Speaking to “TOI” the association president K.A.Ravi Chengappa told that when the land owners apply for stone crushing the officials will reject such applications. But they oblige the rich commercial minded people by giving permission and these permitted people crush stones even in hilly and forest area. They mint money by raising the prices. Since three months the prices of stone bits are raised from Rs.20 per M.M (1 feet) to Rs. 32. The contractors who got tender works from PWD and other departments cannot bear the raised prices. The tender works given during last year could not be carried due to abnormal raise in the prices of materials.The stone dealers will not give any bills to the contractors and again the Govt. departments deduct royalty amount for this which has to be borne by the contractors said Ravi Chengappa. He warned that if the situation continues all the Govt. works in Kodagu will be ceased.
The district administration has announced the new sand policy in the district. But, this has become impractical. The contractors will not get the sand in the scheduled places fixed by the PWD. This has badly affected the ongoing works Ravi Chengappa explained.
The Additional D.C.K.M.Chandregowda assured that he will bring it to the notice of the speaker K.G.Bopaiah and try to solve it at the earliest.
Association office bearers N.S.Rajendra, C.S.Bopaiah, K.Babu and others participated in the protest.
