VATAL URGE FOR FIELD MARSHAL STATUE IN BANGALORE

Madikeri Jan.29: The kannada activist Vatal nagaraj today garlanded the field marshal Cariappa statue in Madikeri. He urged the state Govt. to establish Field Marshal cariappa statue near Vidhanasoudha, Bangalore. He warned protest in front of Kodagu Deputy commisssioner’s office and in front of Vidhanasoudha if Govt. does not agree to establish the statue. Vatal nagaraj was on the way to Sulya and spent some time in Madikeri.

RARE RADISH

Madikeri Jan. 29: Satish rai of Athur village near Gonikoppal has grown rare radish. The weight is 4 K.G. having 1 feet radius and 2.3 feet length. Satish rai told he had sown the Indo American seed brought by his brother Sudhish rai from Bangalore 5 months back.

SUCCUMBED TO INJURIES

Madikeri Jan. 29: A house wife of kadagadal village near here who got burn injuries during cooking in the kitchen due to accidental fire was succumbed to injuries today in the Madikeri civil hospital after 15 days of suffering. Chithra(34) is the victim. She is survived with husband Cheluva , a labourer and three children including a boy.

Madikeri Jan. 29: V.P.Shashidhar, Kodagu zilla panchayath ex. Member has been nominated for the Kodagu JDS president post by the state president H.D.Kumaraswamy today. He will replace Shanthu Appaiah of Pollibetta who so for served..Sashidhar’s name was previously not accepted for recommendation by the Kodagu JDS leader M.C.Nanaiah in a meeting held here. But, he was backed by JDS leader and ex. Minister B.A.Jeevijaya of Somwarpet thaluk.
